On Tuesday,
September 13, 2005, a Film Fair Gala was held at the Linen
Life Park Avenue Gallery to celebrate the Oakland film
industry and honor Oakland film writer and business
consultant, Ms. Gini Graham Scott, for her export sales to
Hong Kong. The event was well-attended, and the speakers
included Mr. Joe Haraburda from the Oakland Chamber of
Commerce, Ms. Ami Zins of the Oakland Film Office,
Councilmember Nancy Nadel, and Supervisor Alice-Lai Bitker.
During the event, Director Rod Hirsch of the Oakland U.S.
Export Assistance Center (USEAC) presented Ms. Scott, owner
of Changemakers/Screenplay Writers Connection, the U.S.
Department of Commerce's Export Achievement Certificate for
her multiple export sales to Hong Kong. Ms. Scott had been
one of the participants of the Filmart 2005 Product
Literature Display in Hong Kong arranged by the Oakland
Export Assistance Center and Commercial Specialist Alice
Lai. As a result of her participation in Filmart 2005, the
Oakland USEAC and Commercial Specialist Alice Lai were able
to assist Ms. Scott in successfully securing multiple export
sales to Lee Lik Chee, Director/Producer of the popular Hong
Kong movie "Shaolin Soccer."
