Film Fair Gala News & Photos

We had a great event September 13, 2005 at the Linen Life Park Avenue Gallery in Emeryville, California to introduce the business community to the film community in Oakland, as well as promote the upcoming Film Festival.   We had about 100 people, including City Council Member Nancy Nadel, Supervisors Keith Carson and Alice Lai-Bitker, Director of the U.S. Department of Commerce's Export Assistance Center Rod Hirsch, Chamber of Commerce President Joe Hariburda, Director of the Oakland Film Office Amy Zins, and Director of the Oakland International Film Festival David Roach.  Additionally, I showcased my new promotional video and received an Export Achievement Certificate for some foreign sales for the Screenplay Connection resulting from participating in the Hong Kong Filmart in June. The event is featured on the U.S. Department of Commerce site, too.

Here are a sampling of photos, along with our program (Word or PDF), news clips, and press release announcing the event.  The photos were taken by Jim Dennis in Emeryville (jmdennis@dnai.com)

Arriving at the event and signing in

Just take a program and use colored dots on your name to show if you're in films, business, or the media.

A chance to relax on the way in with a massage by Beth Baron of In Touch Community Fundraising with proceeds to charity.
